This book is the physical manifestation of an ongoing list compiled over the years while browsing the shelves of the Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon. The list has grown to be a curated collection, a portrait of the library's holdings through the eyes of another.

All the books are listed in order by dewey decimal number. Not necessarily readable in a cover to cover way, this book functions more as a reference, as a really excellent reading list.

Delphine Bedient is a writer and maker currently based in Portland, Oregon. Her work has been featured by Blunderbuss Magazine, Fog Machine, and Bottlecap Press, and a collection of her short fiction, entitled Down and Out on a Yacht, is available from Two Plum Press. She likes the color blue, writing in cursive and wearing sunglasses. She spends most of her time touching books.
